If you can find the water on the prairie you will find the horses as they need up to 10 gallons per day each horse.
No doubt the foal belongs to the stallion on the right, and the mare in the middle is part of his harem. She is the first mare who is second in command. They get to drink the water first, along with their offspring, before the rest of the herd muddies it up.
